Program Goals and Objectives - SLO’s

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

1. State the role and responsibilities of the EMT 1.
2. Describe proper management of various medical emergencies.
3. Perform various emergency medical care skills required for complete patient assessment. Identify basic knowledge of cardiac and respiratory emergencies and demonstrate ability to provide emergency care.
4. List various methods used to manage wounds and control bleeding and shock.
5. Describe the basic knowledge and methods needed to manage injuries and illnesses of the nervous system, abdomen, genitalia and musculoskeletal areas.
6. Understand the indications and proper use of an epinephrine auto injector.
7. Understand the indications and proper use of intranasal Narcan.
8. Obtain AHA BLS renewal certification.
