Program Goals and Objectives - SLO’s
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- State the role and responsibilities of the EMT 1.
- Describe proper management of various medical emergencies.
- Perform various emergency medical care skills required for complete patient assessment. Identify basic knowledge of cardiac and respiratory emergencies and demonstrate ability to provide emergency care.
- List various methods used to manage wounds and control bleeding and shock.
- Describe the basic knowledge and methods needed to manage injuries and illnesses of the nervous system, abdomen, genitalia and musculoskeletal areas.
- Understand the indications and proper use of an epinephrine auto injector.
- Understand the indications and proper use of intranasal Narcan.
- Obtain AHA BLS renewal certification.
