This course is designed primarily for healthcare professionals in emergency departments, intensive care units, critical care departments, surgical areas, or pre-hospital environments, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency. The ACLS Provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest, symptomatic bradycardia, tachyarrhythmia, acute coronary syndrome, and acute ischemic stroke.
Please note this class is taught with the understanding the student is proficient in the interpretation of EKG strips and the correct associated treatment. Interpretation is not taught during this course. The REQUIRED precourse self-assessment AND precourse work has to be passed with a minimum of 70% prior to class. If it is not completed prior to class you may be rescheduled. Expect these precourse activities to take about 3 hours.
